Sciatica
Sciatica Treatment Throughout Bolton & The Surrounding Areas
Sciatica is caused when the sciatic nerve is irritated. Usually when something is pressing on or rubbing against the sciatic nerve.
Common Causes
- Back injury – causing inflammation around the nerve root
- Prolapsed Disc – a disc pressing against the nerve root
- Spinal Stenosis – narrowing of the channel through which the spinal cord or nerve passes
- Spondylolisthesis – when one of the bones (vertebrae) in your spine slips out of alignment
Usually there is some low back pain, but there is often more pain in the buttock, thigh, leg or foot. The level of pain can be mild to severe, depending on activity and position.
